Galvanizing a mixed batch of workpieces — poles, frames, brackets, beams and fabricated parts of different sizes — demands a line that never fights the material flow. This 20,000 ton per year hot dip galvanizing line answers that with a ring layout inside an 81 × 15.9 m workshop, a 7.0 × 1.2 × 2.2 m zinc tank, and furnace oil burning as the heat source.
The scope is turnkey: from degreasing and pickling through fluxing, galvanizing, cooling and passivation, one supplier takes responsibility for tanks, crane, heating, control and fume treatment.
Acid fumes are captured inside a closed room measuring 61.0 × 3.8 × 6.5 m and routed to a centralized treatment system, so the plant meets environmental requirements with no overflow. Industrial waste gas is closed-collected rather than diluted into the workshop. An optional fixed zinc smoke collecting and treatment unit can be added for further particulate control.
High speed pulse heating keeps the zinc bath uniform with high thermal efficiency, which translates directly into longer zinc tank life and lower fuel per ton. The new process eliminates the water-washing stage, cutting both capital investment and daily operating cost. Flue waste heat is recovered to heat the flux tank. Maximum electrical load across the line is only 230 kW, with water use of 0.01 m³ per ton.
| Utility | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Electrical power | Max. 230 kW |
| Water | 0.01 m³/ton, pressure ≥ 0.2 MPa, pH 6.5–8 |
| Compressed air | 0.5 MPa, 3 m³/min |
